This video is part of an off-chain edition of 10, originally minted as #117 of 117 on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) in August 2023 via Entrepot.app .

About the Artwork:

An artist friend entrusted me (Ferose) with a collection of glass-mounted slides that were abandoned in her DC art studio. Inspired by these forgotten pieces, I created this series alongside several art installations, video projections, and sculptures, which have been exhibited in locations including upstate New York, Fribourg, Switzerland, Berlin, and southern Germany.

Creation Process:

  1. Deconstructed the two-inch glass-mounted slides.
  2. Sewed the slide film together in groups of four.
  3. Photographed the assembled squares using a digital camera.
  4. Edited the images in Photoshop to remove backgrounds.
  5. Animated the compositions in DaVinci Resolve, thickening them to resemble glass slides and adding spinning effects.
  6. Minted the final collection on the ICP blockchain and distributed it through Entrepot.app in August 2023.

Distribution:

The original collection was airdropped to holders of Memory Quilt Pieces and members of my DSCVR Portal "Attic" as a token of appreciation for the growing community and its interest in showcasing studio artists' work within the ICP NFT ecosystem.

Project Context:

"Road Trip" marks my third NFT project minted on the Internet Computer Protocol. As someone who joined the ICP community in 2021, I’m passionate about collecting NFTs and deepening my understanding of Web3, blockchain technology, and the creative possibilities of ICP.

About the Artist:

I am a visual artist based in Germany, originally from Minnesota. With a background in photography and sculpture, I hold a BFA from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and an MFA from the University of Maryland, College Park. My practice explores the intersection of traditional art forms and emerging technologies, bridging physical and digital realms.
