This is #102 of 117 MP4 videos I originally minted on the Internet Computer Protocol in August 2023 on Entrepot.app. I hold 15 Road Trip NFTs and am now offering these 15 videos as low cost digital downloads.
Creation Process:
- Deconstructing two-inch glass mounted slides
- Sewing slide film together in groups of four
- Photographing the squares of four slides with a digital camera
- Editing in Photoshop to remove the background
- Creating videos in DaVinci Resolve to animate them (making them thicker to resemble glass slides and adding a spinning effect)
- Minting on the ICP blockchain and airdropping the entire collection through Entrepot.app in August 2023
Project Background:
This project began when an artist friend gifted me (Ferose) her collection of glass-mounted slides, which had been abandoned in her DC art studio. The series evolved alongside several art installations, video projections, and sculptures exhibited in upstate New York, Fribourg (Switzerland), Berlin, and southern Germany. The original collection was airdropped to holders of Memory Quilt Pieces and members of the DSCVR Portal Attic as a thank-you to the growing ICP community.
Road Trip is my third NFT project. I joined the ICP community in 2021, where I collect NFTs and continue to explore Web3, decentralized social media hosted entirely on the ICP blockchain.
